Self directed series of graphic props. I chose to explore the character Milo Thatch from the animated film Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Milo was a great fit because his story combines my love of period films with the element of sci-fi and fantasy. The story is set in 1914 Washington D.C. and follows Milo, a cartographer and linguist, on his journey to discover the lost city of Atlantis.

Designed props are the Shepherd’s Journal, ink bottle label, resignation letter, and map of Atlantis. Additional props include: books, vintage glasses, vintage compass, photo of “Thaddeus Thatch”, Milo’s grandfather, and a blue Atlantean crystal.

Shepherd’s Journal: The Key to discovering Atlantis. I hand drew the inscriptions on the pages, aged and bound the book.

Milo’s resignation letter from the Smithsonian institution based off of a real correspondence. I was lucky enough to be able to use a vintage typewriter to write the letter and designed a received stamp based on reference material.
